Apple Butter
This Homemade Apple butter is simple to make and delicious. Perfect to give as a gift or eat by yourself. Slather this on some English muffins or use it as a sauce, this is an excellent spread to make.

- 6 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tbsp +1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp +1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp cloves
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Place sliced apples in slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, add the sugars, spices, and salt. Mix together and pour on top of the apples. Mix well.
Cook in slow cooker on low for 10 hours, stirring occasionally, until thickened and brown.
Use an immersion blender to blend until smooth or pour into a blender and blitz until smooth and then add back to the slow cooker.
Cook for an additional 2 hours to dry it out.
Spoon into a sterile container, cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
