Ingredients for Nutritional Yeast Popcorn
- Popcorn. You can use kernels or I prefer buying the microwaveable bags (he ones with no salt or butter) to save time.
- Nutritional Yeast. This adds a cheesy, savory flavor. I use the Anthony’s kind, but different brands will have different flavors. So choose the one you like the best.
- Vegan Butter. I prefer Earth’s balance vegan butter, but you can use coconut oil, avocado oil, or canola oil. Or any type of fat you like the flavor of.
- Salt
Different Flavors and Variations
This is your popcorn and you all have different preferences and flavors you like. These are different ideas to make this popcorn truly special…
- Black Pepper Popcorn. When melting the vegan butter, add freshly ground black pepper before you add the nutritional yeast.
- Lemon Popcorn. This is my personal favorite. Before you bake the popcorn in the oven, sprinkle some freshly squeezed lemon juice over on top. .
- Spicy Popcorn. Add some cayenne to the butter and nutritional yeast mixture. Then after the popcorn is out of the oven, sprinkle with paprika.
- Cheesy Popcorn. Before you put it into the oven. Sprinkle some Vegan parmesan on top to melt on top.
